I held her in my arms, whispering dumb shit I’m sure all new parents do. Dana Sue had the poor kid’s whole life mapped out already and I promised myself to keep an eye on that shit before she makes my son soft.

“Are you really feeling okay?” She nodded her head against my chest and sighed. “It was totally worth it, he was worth it. I have so many plans Law, but I wish…”

“You wish what baby?” I knew what she was going to say before she said it.

“I wish my mom were here. I want her to see him.” “She will, don’t worry about that right now.” Like hell! We can save that fight for later.

“Okay, I feel tired.” Two seconds later she began to wilt and was asleep in less than a minute. I checked on my boy and the kid was out for the count so I left them and headed outside to join the others who were still going strong.

Lyon had a look that I knew meant he was here for more than childbirth, but knowing him he wouldn’t want to rain on my moment so I’ll have to drag it out of him.

“Is that it for a while now? Damn!”

“What’s got you in a snit Colt?”

“You fucks, and your women not to mention mine. I’ve been all over the damn place in the last few months and I have babies at home.”

“Aww you missing your girls Lyon?” What a sap. He talks a lotta shit but the man’s a family man down to his damn toes.

“The trips are only six and a half months old, we left them with my parents and Kat’s but fucking Mengele was acting squirrelly when we left. She’s pissed that we didn’t bring her along, who knows what the fuck she’s doing in my place as we speak.”

“Just bring her out in a coupla weeks.” He snorted and tipped his chair back on its back legs. “You don’t want that bro trust me, give your boy a head start, let him reach at least five before you do that shit.”

“What do you mean?”

“My kid…never mind, she might be fine with yours since they don’t live with her mother and I.”

“A little jealous is she?”

“Jealous my ass, jealousy I can deal with, but she’d have your kid up on a table doing some kinda fucked up experiment before you can blink.”

The whole room laughed because we were all familiar by now with little Catalina and her experiments. It seems we never see or hear from Colt these days without hearing about some infraction of hers and the kid seems to get smarter with each telling.

“You did good Law, the fucking SEALs were worst than you. I’m still recovering from that debacle.” He snorted and shook his head.

“I know, I was there remember.” I grinned around the bottle of cold brew somebody had stuck in my hand.

He wasn’t lying. Logan and Con had been the worst, or was it Cord? No definitely Tyler.
